Toronto, Ontario — Kids 10 years and below, seniors 65 and over, as well as newcomers to Canada who came in 2016 until recently will be given free admission upon presentation of proof at the “Pinoy Fiesta & Trade Show sa Toronto“, Saturday, June 16, 2018, at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre here.

The Community, Seniors & Liaison Committee of the Philippine Canadian Charitable Foundation (PCCF) said during an interview with Front Page Philippines TV that the PCCF executive committee is doing this to help ease the burden on admission cost for families wishing to join in the celebration of Filipino culture, heritage and sports at the biggest annual summer indoor event.

Rosemer Enverga — Executive Vice President of the PCCF, said city officials, led by Toronto Mayor John Tory, are attending the event to celebrate Filipino Heritage Month.

This is the first year that June is celebrated officially as Filipino Heritage Month in Toronto as passed by the City Council in November 2017 from a motion brought forward by Councillor Neethan Shan.

Rosemer is the widow of Filipino Canadian Senator Tobias Enverga, Jr. — who shortly, before his death, made representation with all levels of government in Canada for the declaration of June as Filipino Heritage Month.
