Because of Chinese New Year Programming on OMNI 2 TV on Sunday, January 29, 2012, Front PagePhilippines will air at 6:00 p.m. ET (Eastern Time) instead of its original time slot. This is a one-time change only and good only for that Sunday.

Front PagePhilippines airs on Sundays at prime 10 p.m. TV ET time with Alternative Viewing on Thursdays at 4 p.m. ET over OMNI 2 Television, CJMT-Toronto, Channel 69, Rogers Cable 14-Toronto.

Hosted by veteran broadcaster Gie Alvarez and written, directed and produced by print and broadcast journalist Ace Alvarez, Front Page Philippines is also available ACROSS CANADA to Starchoice satellite tv subscribers on channel 395, and to ExpressVu subscribers on channel 216.

Toronto, Ontario — In tonight’s episode of Front Page Philippines, program host Gie Alvarez takes you to the 3rd Charter Night of the KIWANIS CLUB OF FILIPINO METRO TORONTO.

The event also marked the induction of the club’s new officers led by Johnny Burguilos who succeeded Quintin Palisoc at the helm of the organization.

VIP Night of “Pinoy Global Singing Idols with Karylle and Christian Bautista

TORONTO, ONTARIO — At the VIP Night in honor of special guests, Karylle and Christian Bautista, Friday, Nov. 25, 2011, ANCOP Canada’s and Culture Philippines of Ontario’s Dan Gutierrez introduced Ace Alvarez to Fr. Carlos Macatangga, SVD, of the Cristo Rei Parish in Mississauga, saying, “Ace is the producer of Front Page Philippines TV and helping promote the “Pinoy Singing Idol”.

Fr. Carlos said to Ace, “So, you’re… the guy whom to blame for all this. We maxed out on ticket sales. Now we have to recall some of them; also, we have been declining requests for tickets.” At the same time, Fr. Carlos thanked Ace, of course. The VIP Night was held in connection with the “Pinoy Global Singing Idol” — a singing competition aimed at raising funds for ANCOP Canada by Cristo Rei Parish in Mississauga in cooperation with ABS-CBN. Ace says, “Nakakataba naman ng puso when one hears good words such as those of Fr. Macatangga.”

The regional final of “Pinoy Global Singing Idol” was held, Saturday, November 26, 2011.
